Adobe Data Breach Bigger Than Initially Thought

BOSTON—Adobe Systems reported earlier this week that the security breach, first reported last month, was far greater than initially thought, with attackers obtaining data on more than 38 million Adobe customer accounts, Reuters reported.

According to Adobe, hackers also stole part of the source code for Photoshop editing software.

Back on Oct. 3, Adobe reported that cyber attackers had gained access to the credit card information and other data of 3 million users, as well as Adobe IDs and encrypted passwords. The attackers also stole source code to Adobe products Acrobat, ColdFusion and ColdFusion Builder, and gained access to invalid or inactive IDs.

An Adobe spokesperson told Reuters the company is unaware of any unauthorized activity on Adobe accounts as a result of the attack thus far. A full investigation is ongoing, according to Adobe.
