However, it would be preferable for all of us if the marketplace sorted out things instead of the courts. Just as the introduction of InDesign will motivate Quark to continue developing XPress, along with other products, it is good for Adobe to have to compete for market share, too.

I'm pulling for Tim Gill to make good on his promises at Seybold—and hoping Quark quickly delivers tools to export PDFs directly. And I plan to continue using Acrobat and other Adobe applications that have become indispensable to the prepress industry. We need both of them, and both of them surely need us. zz
