Heidelberg Details Its Latest Equipment and Consumables Sales
KENNESAW, CA—Sept. 30, 2010—Heidelberg has announced the following new product installations:
All Color Offset Banks on Heidelberg Efficiency
All Color Offset Printers recently augmented its pressroom lineup by installing a pair of Printmaster QM 46-2s from Heidelberg. The new additions join a pair of Speedmaster SM 52 perfectors and a Speedmaster SM 74 perfector on the shop floor. The new machines replace a pair of aging QM 46-2s, with more than 60 million impressions apiece.
“The new presses handle everything we throw at them—and we throw a lot their way,” said Bill Bogue, owner of the 51-year-old business since 1980. “The automation, ease of use and production speeds of our Heidelberg presses—coupled with our move to computer-to-plate three years ago—have completely revolutionized our shop. When we switched to Heidelberg in 1998, we literally doubled our productivity.”
To keep all of its presses running smoothly, All Color chooses the majority of its pressroom supplies from Heidelberg’s Saphira line, which includes blankets, rollers, inks and coatings, fountain solution, press wash and related items. The company also operates a POLAR 115 paper cutter, two Stahl B20 folders, a Stitchmaster ST 90 saddlestitcher, and a Heidelberg Windmill letterpress.
Located in Farmingdale, NY, All Color Offset is a high-volume, wholesale printer to the local and regional trade. Established in 1959, the company currently employs a staff of 25 and boasts annual sales revenue of around $5 million.
Boneck Printing Trades Up to a POLAR 115 X
Boneck Printing, a growing offset and flexographic printer in Sheboygan, WI, has purchased and installed a POLAR 115 X high-speed, programmable paper cutter. The new cutter replaces a 25-year-old POLAR ECM cutter, and represents a quantum leap in efficiency, ease-of-use and productivity for the 41-year-old commercial printer, a longtime Heidelberg customer.
“We cut everything from raw sheets to finished pads on the POLAR machine,” said company president Tom Behrens. “Although we’ve been up and running for only a few weeks, my operators are telling me how happy they are with the cutter, especially the ease of programming and maintenance, step-by-step alerts, and the streamlined OptiKnife knife-changing. As a result of these innovations, we hope to be at least 30 percent more productive than we were.”
Elsewhere in the shop, Boneck operates a Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 74 6-color press, a Speedmaster SM 52 6-color press with Axis Color Control, a Suprasetter 52 platesetter with Prinect Prepress Manager workflow, a Heidelberg 72ZP 2-color perfector, a Heidelberg TOK press, and a Printmaster QM 46-2, in addition to Stahl B 26 and B 20 folders. The company also uses a variety of Heidelberg Saphira consumables including inks, press wash and Saphira Chem-free plates.
