Heidelberg to Present Inkjet Solutions for Packaging at interpack
HEIDELBERG, GERMANY—March 17, 2011—At the upcoming interpack trade show held from May 12-18, 2011 in Düsseldorf (Germany), Heidelberg will be presenting a comprehensive range of products and solutions for packaging printing. The Linoprint unit will be taking center stage at Booth E31 in Hall 11.
“Inkjet printing is rapidly gaining in importance for the packaging industry,” said Stephan Plenz, member of the Heidelberg Management Board responsible for Heidelberg Equipment. “Alongside its advertising printing portfolio and associated postpress operations, Heidelberg has been consistently investing in the development of industrial inkjet technology for many years. At interpack this year, the company will be showcasing sophisticated inkjet solutions for the packaging industry that are already being used successfully by our customers.”
The Linoprint digital inkjet printing systems offer brand-name manufacturers, packaging producers, and filling companies solutions for many different areas of applications in modern packaging production, where customized decoration and labeling play a key role alongside flexible substrate printing. The trade show presentation will focus on applications for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and manufacturing industries, such as the chemistry or DIY sectors.
With regard to pharmaceutical applications, Heidelberg will be using the Linoprint Driveline B, for example, to demonstrate the many options available for printing on aluminum foil and label material, thus highlighting this machine's versatility. Within the scope of “late stage differentiation”, i.e. differentiation in downstream production phases, even short runs can be printed as required and in excellent quality.
“The flexible Linoprint solutions are making it possible to integrate digital printing into packaging lines,” says Daniel Dreyer, Head of Linoprint at Heidelberg. “When integrating inkjet systems at customer sites, we factor in both the existing production environment and the inks and substrates to be used in our systems.”
High-quality offset solutions in Innovationparc Packaging
Heidelberg will also be represented in the “Health (Wellbeing)” category of “Innovationparc Packaging.” As a technology partner in several joint projects, Heidelberg will be taking this opportunity to demonstrate how cold foils can be used effectively and sustainably to finish and further process design packaging for OTC products, pharmacy cosmetics, and cosmeceuticals, for example.
