Heidelberg Restructures Into Three Divisions
HEIDELBERG, GERMANY—The management and supervisory boards of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) have announced a new corporate structure. Effective April 1, 2010, the company will be split into three divisions: Heidelberg Equipment, Heidelberg Services and Heidelberg Financial Services.
Responsibility for the Heidelberg Equipment division will lie with Stephan Plenz, who was previously the member of the management board responsible for technology and operations. Marcel Kiessling, a 20-year veteran of the company who has headed up Heidelberg Americas since 2004, will take charge of the Heidelberg Services division beginning January 1.
Also starting January 1, the management board will comprise Heidelberg CEO Bernhard Schreier; CFO Dirk Kaliebe, who will continue to be in charge of the Heidelberg Financial Services division; Plenz; and Kiessling. In addition, Dr. Jürgen Rautert, member of the management board responsible for sales, is leaving the company as part of the reorganization. His sales responsibilities will be taken over by Schreier.
As part of the restructuring, the company also announced plans to significantly expand the Heidelberg Services division, which is relatively independent of economic cycles.
