Heidelberg’s Print Media Center (PMC) Atlanta has played a key role during the pandemic, enabling virtual and, more recently, in-person demonstrations of Heidelberg’s wide range of offerings. Whether it’s a mid-to-large-scale Smart Print Shop, or demonstrations of smaller-scale software, printing, and finishing equipment, PMC Atlanta is able to demonstrate end-to-end automated workflows for the ultimate in production efficiency.
But now, as the pandemic begins to wane and people feel more comfortable in larger gatherings, Heidelberg believes the time is right to showcase its Smart Print Shop concept to even larger audiences. “Now that we feel it is safe to meet face-to-face with our existing customers and prospects in a larger environment, we are fully committed to engaging with them in our booth at the PRINTING United Expo,” points out Heidelberg USA President Felix Mueller. “There is a growing pent-up demand for buyers and sellers alike in our industry to come together to network, share best practices, and renew friendships that were temporarily put on hold due to COVID-19.
“That’s what is prompting us to bring a Smart Print Shop to Orlando this fall,” Mueller adds, noting that demonstrations will include a completely automated solution featuring Prinect Production workflow driving a highly versatile Heidelberg Speedmaster sheetfed offset press, a digital press and a Polar cutter.
The largest North American trade show for the printing industry in 2021, PRINTING United Expo will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., from Oct. 6-8.
“By the time we arrive in Orlando it will be almost two years since there was a significant trade show in the printing industry,” PRINTING United President Dave Leskusky comments. “We’re looking forward to being the destination where all printers can gather, network, and celebrate the re-opening of the industry.
“Heidelberg’s commitment to PRINTING United Expo, and the industry, by standing up a mid-size print shop on the floor is exciting,” Leskusky continues. “Our business indicators research shows that growth lies ahead for the commercial print market and it’s important that printers be able to see equipment, running on the show floor, that will fuel this growth.”
