Wisecarver Goes Three for Three with New Printmaster QM 46
Wisecarver Communications, a small general commercial printer in Winchester, Va., recently installed its third Printmaster QM 46 2-color press from Heidelberg. The company needed the flexibility to handle an increasing volume of spot and four-color work, as well as the ability to produce more two-color business, technical and pharmaceutical printing on hard-to-work-with 30-lb. paper. Now, says Owner Bob Read, “I have extra capacity and fewer headaches.” In terms of throughput, he adds, “We used to run 20,000-30,000 pieces in two days. With our new Printmaster QM 46-2 with IR dryer, we can do that much in one day - and the quality is better.” The company also operates Heidelberg TOK, Kord and Windmill presses. Established in 1857, Wisecarver Communications has seven employees and serves a regional clientele with business-to-business printing.
