Ryan Printing Ramps Up Production with Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 74, Prosetter P74
Ryan Printing, Inc., Blauvelt , N.Y. , has installed a new Speedmaster CD 74 5-color press with coater, together with an automated Prosetter P74 violet platesetter. The new press replaces an older 5-color press and features the Heidelberg Axis Control color measurement system. The CD 74 has already yielded significant improvement in productivity. According to Al Ryan, owner/president, the addition of a faster, more productive press with coater will help expand the company’s markets and increase its competitiveness. “Production on the CD 74 is greatly enhanced because it can print a 23 3/4 x29” press sheet, allowing for 50 percent more output on sell sheets, six-page brochures and 11x17” items, as well as many more postcards up per sheet.” The new Prosetter P74 handles around 1,000 plates per month. Ryan also operates a Heidelberg QM DI 4-color press and a Speedmaster 74 4-color press with perfector. Its bindery hosts a pair of Stahlfolders, a Stitchmaster ST 90 saddlestitcher, and a POLAR cutter 115 ED with stack lift, jogger and Transomat offloader. Heidelberg press and prepress Consumables are in use throughout the shop. Ryan Printing’s 12 employees provide a local and regional clientele with brochures, sell sheets, postcards and other general commercial printing. The company has been a Heidelberg customer since 1992.
