Dscoop Phoenix Preview: Here's the Scoop on Dscoop
Planning to attend Dscoop Phoenix, Imagine — the largest digital printing user group conference in the graphic arts industry — which will be held at the Phoenix (Ariz.) Convention Center from March 1-4? Based on the success of past Dscoop Americas conferences, you won’t be disappointed by the annual community event tailored for HP Graphics Solutions business owners and technical personnel who use HP Indigo, Scitex, Latex wide-format and PageWide inkjet web presses; as well as for brand owners, marketers and creative agencies.
A bevy of educational sessions focused on innovative digital marketing technologies and business processes, numerous peer-to-peer networking opportunities, as well as the Solutions Showcase featuring HP and partner equipment demonstrations and solutions, are all on tap. “This year, the conference includes the entire Dscoop communications eco-system,” says Kathy Wise, Dscoop Phoenix, Imagine, conference chair and president of DME Holdings. “The sessions will be delivered by industry disruptors and creative leaders transforming their processes, campaigns and ROI through the use of digital print.”
Sessions will be wide-ranging, covering such topics as how to collaborate better with creatives and brand owners hosted by Sabine Lenz of PaperSpecs; a state of the inkjet market report by Marco Boer of IT Strategies; creating effective self-promotional campaigns that increase sales by Thanh Nguyen of The Standard Group; data modeling strategies led by Greg Dean of DME; risk management advice by Charlie Williams of DigiWrap; and next-gen sales techniques by Andy Canmer of Arnold Printing. New this year are 30 “Idea Exchange” sessions, a series of topical peer-based sessions and workshops based on presenters sharing their real-life experiences.
A special “fireside chat” will also be held with Alon Bar-Shany, GM of HP Indigo. Stephen Nigro, president of 3D printing at HP, will discuss how 3D printing is disrupting and reinventing the manufacturing industry; and Eric Wiesner, GM of HP’s PageWide Industrial division, will speak at a session within the Jetcomm track.
Started in 2015, Jetcomm consists of a global user community for high-volume HP PageWide inkjet web press customers. This year, the Jetcomm track will be incorporated into the Dscoop Phoenix, Imagine, program, rather than Jetcomm being held separately as a co-located conference that precedes Dscoop.
“Having been to two previous Jetcomm conferences, I can say that this is among my favorite industry events for commercial inkjet education,” says Martin Aalsma, president and COO of Documation. “Dscoop is, of course, the gold standard of graphic arts user communities. There are fantastic synergies in combining these two conferences into one, and I can’t wait to be part of it.
