Manhattan Printer HighRoad Press Moves to Moonachie, NJ
MOONACHIE, NJ—July 29, 2013—HighRoad Press, an award-winning commercial printing company, has made the move from Manhattan to Moonachie in the New Jersey Meadowlands to grow its business. Founded in 2004, HighRoad Press is a full-service digital and sheet fed offset printing business that produces everything from color critical fashion to print on demand and direct mail items. The company’s clients include numerous businesses, designers and advertising agencies across the country, including many Fortune 500 companies.
HighRoad Press founder, CEO and owner Hallie Satz, said the move, which was made in July, was necessary because the company had outgrown its previous space in New York. The business now occupies a 38,000-square-foot facility in Moonachie, Bergen County, located just six miles from Manhattan. HighRoad Press also maintains a sales office in downtown New York City.
“We are extremely excited about our move to the Meadowlands and look forward to continuing to grow our business,” Satz relayed. “Our need to expand operations is a direct result of a growing client base that is indicative of HighRoad Press’ reputation for delivering the highest-quality work on-time and error-free, no matter how big or small the job.”
HighRoad Press made a tremendous financial investment in its new location and is also a recipient of a New Jersey Economic Development Authority Business Employment Incentive Program (BEIP) grant. The company, which employs nearly 50 people, maintained most of its New York staff. Easy access to public transportation in the Meadowlands has helped staff make the transition. HighRoad Press has already hired two employees since its move and plans to add additional staff in the next 18 months.
Satz worked in her family’s printing company, Barton Press in West Orange, NJ, for 25 years before starting HighRoad Press. “I grew up in the printing industry and I know the Meadowlands area,” Satz said. “I was interested in going back to my home state but wanted to stay close to the city. The Meadowlands offered the most choices.”
Satz’s partner in HighRoad Press, Eric Tepfer, also grew up in a family business, CQS Printing in New York City. “Staying in constant communication with and attending to the needs of our clients has been key to our success,” Tepfer noted. “We are always learning from our clients, what they want and need, and honing our processes, service and delivery to suit those needs.”
HighRoad Press is a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBENC) certified and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) federally certified company. In 2010, HighRoad Press received an American Express OPEN Award as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Women Owned Companies in America. Satz received the 2010 Printing Industries Alliance (PIA) Power of Communication Award for Print, an honor that recognizes her positive influence and creative excellence in the world of graphics communications.
The numerous awards and honors that HighRoad Press has received include the 2012 SAPPI Gold Award and being ranked among Printing Impressions Top 400 Printing Companies in the United States for the past five years. The company has also been named a Top 100 women-owned NYS business by DiversityBusiness.com and a Top 500 Diversity-Owned Business in the United States.
HighRoad Press is also dedicated to environmentally-friendly practices in all areas of operation and follows an aggressive accountability program. The company is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).
Satz said she is proud of the many challenges she has faced and overcome in building a successful company. “There is no doubt that we all must love printing to be in this very tough, but very rewarding, industry!”
