A distributor wanted to improve the way they sourced inventory for their orders. They wasted too much time on supplier and service provider websites. This led to missed orders because, by the time they found the products from one supplier, they’d lost those from another.
Challenges
The distributor had to search multiple supplier sites for better prices and availability on every order. Multiple supplier searches were required for orders with multiple line items. Due to time constraints, some products from multiple suppliers were not fully searched, resulting in inefficient purchases. Additionally, these product searches had to be used to feed their catalog on their e-commerce and web stores, and their purchasing process and web store catalog updates also needed to be improved.
Solutions
Using PromoLink’s Catalog Manager from Web Services Pros (Booth N1174), product and inventory data were automatically imported into the e-commerce platform and Web Stores. With our Supplier Search Index, the distributor can now search for vendors and quickly check their catalogs and stock levels across multiple suppliers’ data in a single stop. They were also able to create, monitor, and configure purchase orders using the Purchase Order Portal module. Furthermore, the newest app, “Reconcile Purchase Orders,” enabled them to reconcile supplier invoices with purchase orders with little effort.
