Hudson Printing Unveils Digital Div. and Invests $10M in Goss, HP Indigo Equipment
SALT LAKE CITY — March 3, 2017 — Hudson Printing, a G7 Master Printer and one of the most trusted commercial printers in North America, has announced the formation of Hudson Digital, a new division created to meet customer demand for jobs of less than 2,000 printed pieces (short-run), faster delivery times, and the use of variable print data. The company’s Salt Lake City plant also added $10 million in three state-of-the-art presses to bolster Hudson’s position as the region’s leading printer with the greatest printing capability.
“Hudson is known for high-quality printing, on-time delivery, and world-class service. Customers also receive this exceptional experience when working with our new business unit, Hudson Digital,” said Paul Hudson, Hudson Printing CEO. “Those who know us for printing high-volume magazines, books and catalogs, can now work with Hudson for all of their printing needs, including print jobs under 2,000 pieces, and a variety of solutions like direct mail, variable data print, brochures, postcards, posters, stickers and business cards.”
Growth and Investment into Offset and Digital Printing
Founded in 1909, Hudson Printing earned its reputation as a trusted printer to deliver quality printed pieces, on-time, and with no surprises. Over the years, Hudson built up the region’s largest printing plant using offset presses. Offset printing is ideal for creating high-quality, multi-page booklets, catalogs, and magazines, for jobs requiring more than 2,000 printed pieces and up to hundreds of thousands of pieces. This traditional side of the business will now be called Hudson Offset. In February, the company demonstrated its commitment to its offset print business by adding a Goss M-600 offset press, to meet the growing demand for high-volume catalog printing.
In 2012, the company began investing in digital print technologies to meet demand for short-run jobs, faster delivery times, and variable print data. Today Hudson’s digital print business services a variety of industries including healthcare with customer packets, direct mail, medical forms; enterprises with brochures, personalized forms, folders, kits, postcards and direct mail.
Part of the company’s ongoing investment into digital print includes adding an HP Indigo 10000 digital press, and an HP Indigo W7250 digital press, creating a unique suite of capabilities for customers and enabling the official launch of the Hudson Digital business unit.
