Idealliance Awards New G7 AI Master Calibration System Certification to HP Indigo Digital Presses
HP Indigo announced today that it is the first manufacturer certified by Idealliance to enable customers to digitally submit, apply and certify for G7 Master Facility Qualification for their digital printing presses, as HP Indigo presses have achieved the rigorous and unique OEM-based G7 AI Master Calibration System Certification.
G7 is the most recognized and widely used specification in the printing industry used by brands worldwide and assures consistent color matching, regardless of ink or substrate.
Although all HP Indigo presses can achieve G7 certification, the new Idealliance G7 AI Master Calibration System Certification program offers a new level of automation and self-sufficiency never before available. With HP Indigo G7-certified presses, print service providers can offer a reliability and credibility factor that is especially important to any brand that places a premium on precision-quality color around the world.
The system-generated electronic files of G7 results are recognized and accepted by Idealliance as valid submission materials for the G7 Master Facility Qualification Program. By automating the process, a time-consuming, manual procedure that typically took precious hours per day to complete on the press, can now be achieved in minutes with no need to send an expert to the facility. The automated service will be available beginning this summer.
“With Idealliance’s new certification, HP Indigo customers can automatically achieve G7 Master Qualification requirements and confidently maintain G7 target conditions, day after day, run to run, anytime or anywhere on any HP Indigo Color Beat-enabled digital press. For brands, color and print quality are everything - and now our customers have a unique competitive advantage with color control that is unmatched in the printing industry today,” said Alon Bar-Shany, general manager, HP Indigo.
Leveraging advanced, built-in color calibration and profile-creation capabilities, HP Indigo customers can easily reach and maintain G7 targeted compliance of their digital presses through an automated and innovative process that has been officially approved and certified by Idealliance. Printing facilities with G7-certified presses can monitor, validate and share color quality conformance automatically with print buyers, brand owners, 3rd party auditors, and quality assurance teams, also dramatically reducing the need for physical inspection of press runs, physical contract proofs, waiting for approvals, or expensive color corrections.
Powered by HP Indigo’s PrintOS Color Beat solution and inline spectrophotometer, any HP Indigo 100K, HP Indigo 15K, or HP Indigo 12000 digital press qualifies where time/date-stamped color measurement data is automatically collected from the press, and securely transmits with no human intervention to the Idealliance 3rd party laboratory for the G7 Master Facility Qualification.
“We congratulate HP Indigo as the first manufacturer in the world to meet the stringent requirements of the G7® AI Master Calibration System Certification Program and in doing so, they have absolutely set themselves apart with press quality, on-press automation color management process control and PrintOS cloud infrastructure. This groundbreaking achievement has a tremendously positive and profitable effect for everyone, from service to press operators and business owners, but especially for HP Indigo’s customers. The ability to maintain repeatable color consistency and then prove that through empirical data whenever and wherever in the world is simply unprecedented in the industry and is game changing. HP Indigo’s extraordinary innovation is like having a G7 expert and auditor engineered right into the press,” said Tim Baechle, CEO, Idealliance.
G7 is an industry standard that can be applied to any printing system, including digital, offset, flexo, gravure, screen, and inkjet presses, and is widely adopted by small and large brands alike. Based on the visual attributes of gray, such as lightness, contrast and balance, G7 is a methodology that can be used to adjust any press to a common neutral appearance and is a recognized foundation for creating consistent color across all devices.
