ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — April 19, 2017 — Komori America announced that Imperial Communications, a high-quality print and technology services provider currently focused on POP/POS, commercial print and packaging, digital and fulfillment markets, recently purchased its fourth Komori press, a six-color Lithrone G40 (GL640). Moving from Milwaukee to a larger facility in New Berlin, Wis., eight years ago, the press was added to provide the additional capacity needed to support the company’s continued growth. Imperial Communications is a G7 Master Printer focused on the food, beverage, retail and packaging industries, all demanding high-quality output.
The GL640 offers Imperial advanced technology that takes Imperial Communications to the next level in quality and throughput. Key considerations in the purchase included the GL640’s ability to produce stunning, dense color on difficult stocks, such as uncoated or matte. Additionally, the GL640 delivers on the speed and productivity that supports Imperial Communications continued competitive edge.
“We have a wonderful long-term relationship with Komori. Over the years, Komori has been there to help us as we continue to grow,” said Jason Stormowski, president and principal owner of Imperial Communications. “The technology on this new press is incredible. From the inking system to how the plates are hung to the ability to print on very heavy stocks, the GL40 is generations beyond anything on the market today. We did our due diligence before we decided to invest in this press, looking at competitive equipment. We kept coming back to the fact that it made the most sense to continue to partner with Komori. Komori simply had a better package for our needs.”
With a variety of automatic devices and systems integrated into the GL640, such as the KHS-AI integrated control system and fully automatic plate-changing (APC), the company plans to enjoy a more efficient, streamlined production process; cutting its makeready to minutes. Reliability also played heavily into the decision to upgrade to the GL640. Imperial Communications reports very low maintenance was required on its previous Komori equipment.
“Imperial Communications’ success can be attributed to its wonderful employees who take their job seriously and care about the needs of the customer,” said Mark Hopkins, VP Sales, Komori America. “The GL640 will only add to the customer experience with its ability to deliver a high-quality product in an environment that requires fast turnaround. We are very proud of our relationship with Imperial Communications and look forward to continuing to support their needs now and in the future.”
