Ingram Signs Fox Chapel Publishing and Vantage Press
NASHVILLE, TN—08/16/10—Ingram Publisher Services, an Ingram Content Group company, today announced agreements with Fox Chapel Publishing and Vantage Press. Fox Chapel Publishing is a publisher of woodworking, woodcarving, craft and how-to books and magazines with more than 350 titles in print. Founded in 1949, Vantage Press is one of America’s first self-publishing corporations and has published more than 20,000 titles by authors from around the world.
“At Fox Chapel Publishing, we looked at three main criteria when selecting a publisher services provider for our books—distribution strength, customer service and systems sophistication,” said Alan Giagnocavo, President and Publisher of Fox Chapel. “Not only does Ingram Publisher Services have a clear advantage in distribution, but also in their backend systems and reporting. They understand the sort of information that a publisher needs to run its business well and can deliver it.”
“At Fox Chapel, in addition to our traditional print books, we’re on the cusp of releasing a list of e-books and digital products,” added Giagnocavo. “Such a major push requires a new level of sales and distribution savvy and strategic knowledge and sophistication in the digital world. Ingram’s combined digital and print-on-demand know-how, paired with the spectacular care and knowledge they have already delivered to Fox Chapel, made them the clear choice to collaborate with.”
Vantage Press currently publishes several hundred titles per year in all genres, and will launch its new Vantage*Point imprint in Spring 2011. The new imprint will introduce three seasonal lists, in all genres.
“Vantage Press and our work with self-publishers is growing exponentially. Our alliance with Ingram Publisher Services will provide us with the best service in the business,” said David Lamb, President of Vantage Press. “We can now offer our authors any range of services, including marketing and sales, and combine that with Ingram’s massive distribution reach.”
“The publishing industry is in the midst of a transformation and publishers need a comprehensive and complementary menu of services to take full advantage of potential market opportunities,” said Mark Ouimet, Vice President and General Manager, Ingram Publisher Services. “Ingram’s combined full-service distribution and print and digital services continue to unlock new avenues of growth for publishers, and we look forward to working with both Fox Chapel and Vantage Press as they adapt to the changing publishing landscape and grow their companies.”
