InSoft Automation Pvt. Ltd., winner of the coveted Intertech Technology Award, announces the release of Version 13 of its flagship layout planning and print estimation software “Imp”.
Imp Version 13 sets a new direction by introducing a powerful invention -- “no-mix ganging”. Each job is nested or packed into an isolated section on a big sheet. After printing, each such section can be separated by guillotine cuts, creating sub-sheets that contain only one part for die cutting and finishing. This eliminates sorting and chances of mixing jobs for packing and shipment. An invention such as this has great potential for improving the bottom line for packaging convertors. printers.
For the first time Print Estimation is Industry 4.0 standard. In Version 13 handsfree “Quotation – Imposed Layouts – Job Card” generation is a reality.
“Imp software has been at the forefront of innovation when it comes to cost-efficient layout planning, nesting, and imposition. The methodology adopted for estimation enables non-technical person to create accurate quotes consistently” says Santosh Mulay, Vice President, Business Development. It is about generating order winning quote with built-in software intelligence” he adds.
Label Imposition Simplified: Version 13 ends the challenges with increasing the number of label SKUs for short run digital label printing. Stringent controls have been introduced and automated in Version 13 for label printing, to ensure correct label orientation, fewer overruns, uniform gaps between labels, no-splitting of single labels into multiple lanes, and limiting the number of lanes as per slitter knives configuration.
Print layout planning is the nodal point where the overall efficiency and profits from a job are determined. Imp is the only software that generates order winning quotes, cost-efficient print ready layouts, quotations, job cards, job routing with sequence of operations, all in one step, using one coherent interface.
“Technological and algorithmic innovations are important, but what is more important is listening to your customers and choosing the right problems to solve,” says Sashikanth Goparaju, CTO, InSoft Automation, and lead developer of the “Imp” software. Goparaju is an aerospace engineer, who worked on a CAD/CAM software before writing the first line of code for InSoft’s imposition and nesting software 15 years ago. “It has been a rewarding journey working with the printing industry and addressing its challenges,” he says.
