ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. - June 26, 2018 - General Marketing Solutions (GMS), an integrated marketing services company, recently installed a six-color Komori Lithrone G40 with coater (GL640C) to support the company’s significant growth. GMS offers communication solutions across all channels for all types of enterprises, including comprehensive support for large dealer networks and major retailers. Installed less than four months ago, the GL640C is already exceeding the company’s expectations by delivering high quality production at a fraction of the time. GMS reports it has reduced makeready by 50%, while producing photo-quality color images on a wide variety of substrates - yet still meeting customers’ tight deadlines.
“At GMS our focus is to redefine how print is bought. We bring to the table a solutions-oriented process that starts each conversation with strategy and return on investment. We wanted to invest in technology that would offer a full complement of printing capabilities to support this philosophy and fulfill our clients’ critical color needs and timeline requirements,” said Kurt Gonyea, president and CEO for GMS. “We looked carefully at other manufacturers and the technology each provided. Komori was hands down the best choice based on reliability and overall value. The press is performing even better than we anticipated.”
Gonyea notes that the press operators are impressed with the advanced automation of the GL640C due to the fact they can control processes straight from the console. With an increase in demand for short run applications, reducing makeready times was a critical requirement for GMS. Equipped with the KHS-AI system, intelligent software with a self-learning function to adjust register, color matching can be completed quickly and efficiently using the minimum of makeready sheets. Sustainability is also important to GMS, so the ability to reduce waste from paper, chemistry and ink standpoints is another feature the company appreciates.
“We are extremely pleased the GL640C is bringing a high level of automation, quality and pressroom efficiency to GMS,” said Mark Milbourn, vice president of sales for Komori America. “We look forward to continuing our solid partnership with GMS as the company continues to grow and expand its total print solutions capabilities.”
