Japs-Olson is Charter Member of PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative
MINNEAPOLIS—March 9, 2009—Japs Olson Co., which operates a 512,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art printing and mailing facility, is a charter member of the PIM (Printing Industry of Minnesota) Great Printer Environmental Initiative. The program demonstrates a commitment to go beyond what is required by government regulatory agencies in environmental, health and safety compliance.
Participation in the PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative is a voluntary effort. The initiative evolved form the Great Printers Project, which was a collaborative project undertaken by the Council of Great Lake Governors, the Environmental Defense Fund, and the Printing Industries of America.
"We are proud to be a charter member of this initiative which has been in place for over 10 years," said Japs-Olson CEO Mike Beddor. "This is yet another indication to our customers that we operate our facility in a way that minimizes environmental impact."
The PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative commits a company to:
• Comply with all applicable environmental, health and safety requirements;
• Go beyond compliance by minimizing wastes, reusing or recyling waste that cannot be prevented and maximizing energy efficiency; and
• Pursue continuous environmental, health and safety improvements.
