JDF & CIM -- Issues Are Not so CIMple

CIP4 has already published a "Base ICS," which sets minimum requirements for all JDF-enabled equipment and software, and the "MIS ICS," which defines interoperability requirements for communication between MIS solutions and all stages of production equipment. Higher level ICS interfaces are being developed for specific process steps, such as MIS to prepress, conventional printing-sheetfed, binding and digital printing.
