Joel Quadracci's Message to Customers: Leadership Team Evolving for Better Support
Joel Quadracci, chairman, president and CEO of Quad/Graphics, sent out the following message to Quad customers highlighting some of the executive changes and promotions at the company.
At Quad/Graphics, we are constantly looking for ways to advance our service and overall value to you. Today I am pleased to share how we are evolving our organizational structure—particularly our client-facing leadership team—to ensure we provide the best possible customer experience for you from start to finish.
At the center of these changes are aligning all sales and customer service team members with individual business units, and providing you with an executive-level contact who is responsible for all aspects of your product’s success—from manufacturing and distribution to customer service, sales and other client-facing interactions.
What does this organizational change mean for you? An enhanced focus on bringing you the most value from your relationship with Quad/Graphics. Each business unit leader and his team have an in-depth understanding of the product categories or geographies for which he is responsible. Further, each is well versed in the challenges and opportunities you face in the marketplace.
You already may be familiar with some of our business unit executives who have been with Quad/Graphics for some time and are part of my senior leadership team. They are:
- Steve Jaeger, president of direct marketing and media solutions
- Craig Faust, president of commercial and specialty
- Tom Garland, president of packaging
- Tony Scaringi, president of Latin America
Additionally, we have named three new executives for our other business units who report up through Tom Frankowski, our newly named COO. They are:
- Tim Ohnmacht, general manager of magazines and catalogs
- Eric Steinbach, general manager of retail inserts and directories
- Ray Minturn, general manager of special interest magazines and books
Of course, I will continue to be intimately involved with our sales and customer service teams to help you understand how we can help you improve your business results. As a printer and media channel integrator, we are ideally suited to help you connect your content across multiple media channels, including the Web and e-mail, and across multiple devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to achieve your business goals.
Other recent leadership changes of which I want to make you aware include:
Dave Blais, most recently executive vice president of sales and client services, has been named executive vice president of global procurement and platform strategy. Given that our sales and customer service teams now report to their respective business unit leader, I’ve asked Dave to refocus his leadership and vision on evolving other key areas of our business. Dave will be responsible for overseeing all corporate purchasing functions worldwide, including paper and other consumables. Additionally, he will direct the company’s efforts to maximize the effectiveness and competitiveness of our total platform, especially as we pursue additional growth opportunities. Dave is uniquely suited for his new role given his 30-plus years of industry experience in a variety of leadership roles, including sales, customer service, marketing and operations.
Ron Nash has departed our company to pursue other life opportunities. Ron was a huge part of our company for many years, especially our customer service organization. He joined us in 1985 and worked in a variety of leadership roles, including customer service manager, plant director, regional strategy director, client-facing Smartools Director and, most recently, vice president of customer service. We wish Ron well as he embarks on new life adventures and thank him for his many contributions to Quad/Graphics.
Kent Brooks succeeds Ron Nash as vice president of customer experience. In this role, Kent will direct our overall customer service strategy—the key focus of which is serving you and your colleagues beyond your expectations. Kent spent many years in customer service and sales before becoming plant director for our Sussex, WI, facility in 2009. He is passionate about elevating the experience you have with us and I expect he will bring measurable value to our partnership.
Renee Badura, most recently regional vice president of sales for marketing solutions, has been promoted to vice president of Omnichannel Sales Strategy. One of Quad/Graphics’ strengths is our ability to offer you a full continuum of solutions—from multiple types of printed products, including in-store signage, point-of-purchase displays and custom pieces, to leading- edge workflow solutions and revenue-generating media solutions, such as video and interactive print. In this strategic sales role, Renee will work closely with me and her fellow sales executives across all our various business units to help you understand and capitalize on the benefits of our integrated offering.
John Fowler, most recently executive vice president and CFO, has been promoted to vice chairman and executive vice president, responsible for global strategic planning and business development. He will continue to be intimately involved in day-to-day operations, including regular client interactions, but with a concentrated focus on overall business strategy and investment opportunities that will drive the company’s long-term success.
Dave Honan, most recently vice president, controller and chief accounting officer, has been promoted to vice president and CFO, succeeding John Fowler as part of a long-planned succession strategy. Dave, who joined our company in 2009, is an exceptional, forward-thinking leader who understands the intricacies of managing the financial health of a large, complex, publicly traded company like Quad/Graphics. Additionally, he understands our commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
As always, we look forward to strengthening our relationship with you. Your feedback is important, so please do not hesitate to reach out to your sales representative, customer service professional, business unit leader or me. In the event there is any change to your sales or service team members, we’ll reach out to you to discuss.
Regards,
Joel
