DALLAS—October 7, 2015—At GRAPH EXPO 15, KBA North America received acknowledgement for its support of the Accrediting Council for Collegiate Graphic Communications (ACCGC). Ervin Dennis, managing director of the association, presented Eric Frank, KBA vice president of marketing and product management, and Bing Naumann, KBA marketing specialist, with a special plaque to commemorate the firm’s monetary donation and its ACCGC Sustaining Corporate Affiliation. The plaque presentation was made at GRAPH EXPO 15 and co-located CPP EXPO that was held Sept. 13-16, 2015, in Chicago's McCormick Place.
“On behalf of the management of KBA North America, we are very honored to receive this plaque in recognition of our strong support for graphic communications education at the collegiate level through the work and mission of ACCGC,” stated Frank. “Now more than ever, as the industry continues to broaden and change at lightning speed with new technology, we need collegiate academic graphic communications programs to insure that there will be a continuous supply of qualified graduates and employees for the industry. We encourage other firms to support this organization as well. It’s important to not just take, but give back, in life and especially in the printing industry in particular. We’re very proud of doing just that.”
In addition to supporting the ACCGC, KBA supports the graphic arts industry in numerous ways. KBA is involved in more than 50 industry associations ranging from commercial, packaging, flexography and education, and is gratified to be a platinum sponsor of many such groups. The KBA logo can be seen prominently showing its support for key industry organizations.
“We are pleased to recognize KBA as a sustaining corporate affiliate and its aid in promoting collegiate graphic communications,” commented Dennis. “Since it was established in 2005, the ACCGC Sustaining Corporate Affiliate program has added 11 companies and corporations to its roster. In addition to KBA, they include such diversified firms as Bell and Howell, Canon Solutions America, Digital Enterprise Education and Research (DEER) Foundation, Eastman Kodak, FASTSIGNS International, Fuji Graphic Systems, INX International Ink, Quad/Graphics Inc. and Xerox Corp.”
The multiple benefits of a company/corporation becoming an ACCGC Sustaining Corporate Affiliate are:
- Helping to improve the quality of associate, baccalaureate and graduate degree programs in graphic communications at colleges and universities throughout the United States and beyond.
- Providing additional credibility for associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degree programs in the eyes of industry, prospective students and graduates of accredited programs.
- Receiving public and industry recognition for companies/corporations in support of graphic communications education.
- Facilitating the opportunity for affiliated companies/corporations to have representation on the ACCGC Board of Directors (currently, four Sustaining Corporate Affiliate companies are represented on the ACCGC Board), and
