HP Announces Major Sales During GRAPH EXPO
CHICAGO—At GRAPH EXPO 14, HP saw tremendous customer momentum and is announcing several HP digital printing technology purchases from the show floor. New customers include: King Printing, Lowell, MA; Tap Packaging, Cleveland; Marathon Press, Norfolk, NE; and SunDance Marketing Solutions, Orlando, FL.
Book manufacturer King Printing purchased an additional HP Inkjet web press for its Lowell, MA, production facility. Established in 1978, King Printing specializes in short-to-medium run book manufacturing, with emphasis on educational and self-published books. King Printing purchased its first HP Inkjet Web Press in 2010.
“Demand for digitally printed books has increased, and adding capacity to our existing platform will further help us service publishers and their ongoing transition to digitally manufactured product,” noted Adi Chinai, managing director, King Printing. “Adding an HP inkjet web press to our existing fleet will help us provide customers a higher level of service and quality, and HP inkjet technology was the natural choice because of our strong existing relationship with the company.”
Tap Packaging is expanding into digital packaging printing with the purchase of an HP Indigo 30000 digital press at GRAPH EXPO 14, offering new and existing customers faster turnaround times, versioning and wide substrate versatility.
With the press, Tap Packaging will be able to produce high-quality folding cartons in shorter, more frequent, runs for health and beauty companies, confectioners, food and beverage manufacturers and high-end retailers.
“As a 108-year-old company, we’ve had to adapt to market challenges, changing customer demands and evolving printing technology to remain competitive,” said J. Anthony Hyland, president and CEO of Tap Packaging. “The HP Indigo 30000 digital press is a game-changer in folding carton production, and we’re excited to offer our customers faster turnaround times, increased production flexibility and high print quality, while expanding our capacity to take on new business.”
Marathon Press, a full-service printing provider, is expanding its photo and general commercial print ing offerings with an HP Indigo 10000 digital press. A longstanding HP Indigo customer, the company will become the first photo specialty shop in the United States to offer 20x29" digital photo products with proven HP Indigo quality.
“We have partnered with HP Indigo for more than eight years, and HP Indigo digital printing technology has enabled us to provide our clients high-quality prints and vast substrate versatility,” said Max Alewel, director of operations. “The B2-format HP Indigo 10000 digital press will be a huge differentiator for our business, and we see countless application possibilities with the larger format.”
SunDance Marketing Solutions is expanding its large-format portfolio with the purchase of an HP Latex 3000 printer. With a long history as an HP Indigo customer, HP was a natural first choice for the company in its search for new wide-format equipment.
Many factors influenced the company’s decision to purchase the HP Latex 3000 printer, including the printer’s double-sided printing capabilities, increased speeds and reduced costs and, most importantly, the ability to print on a broad range of substrates with high quality.
“At SunDance, we tend to think bigger is better and we were determined to acquire a large-format device that not only meets our current needs, but blows the competition away,” relayed John Henry Ruggieri, director of operations, SunDance. “We are thrilled about the new possibilities the HP Latex 3000 printer brings and are confident the printer will deliver on its promise.”
