Kodak to Consolidate Plate Manufacturing Operations
ROCHESTER, NY—March 24, 2009—Kodak announced today that it will consolidate its plate manufacturing operations in the United States. As a result of this consolidation, Kodak will close its plate manufacturing operations in Windsor, CO, by the end of 2009 and consolidate all U.S. plate manufacturing operations at its Columbus, GA, plate manufacturing facility. This decision enables Kodak to maximize production and logistics efficiencies to further strengthen our position as a premier supplier to our customers.
Kodak is confident that customers will not see any impact on quality, supply or delivery.
Kodak is fully committed to its conventional and digital plates business and will continue to deliver innovative solutions to customers worldwide. Kodak recently invested $15 million to expand production capacity at its Columbus facility, which serves customers throughout the Americas region.
This decision is in no way related to the performance of the site employees. Their performance has been excellent. Kodak will work with employees to find alternate positions at the Colorado site, Columbus, Georgia site, or other Kodak sites, as available.
