PIA Announces 12 Winners of 2012 InterTech Awards
PITTSBURGH—Printing Industries of America (PIA) has announced that a dozen technologies were recipients of the 2012 InterTech Technology Awards. The technologies receiving this award have been judged as "truly innovative and are expected to advance the performance of the graphic communications industry," according to PIA.
The independent panel of judges deliberated over many technology nominations ranging from digital presses and related enhancements to a variety of mobile and Web-based software, the PIA said. The judges felt "great strides" in technology were demonstrated in color measurement and control, layout and finishing, security and low migration inks, inkjet and label presses, printable coatings, pressroom analytics, management information systems, and product content management and publishing.
The winning technologies, along with the manufacturers, were: Kodak NexPress Red Fluorescing Solution, Eastman Kodak; Enterworks Enable, Enterworks Inc.; i-cut Suite, EskoArtwork; Fujifilm J Press 720, Fujifilm North America; Prinect Performance Benchmarking, Heidelberg USA; Keen MIS and Web-to-Print, Keen Systems; Color Control and Web Inspection System with AccuCam, QuadTech Inc.; SunPak LMQ, Sun Chemical; iTechnique, Technique Business Systems; Avatrex Transportable Imaging, Utopia Digital Technologies; Xeikon X-800 VariLane, Xeikon; and i1Pro 2, X-Rite Inc.
The InterTech stars will be presented during the 2012 Premier Print Awards Gala featuring the InterTech Technology Awards and web2awards, Oct. 7, in Chicago.
