Randy Vandagriff of Kodak’s Graphics Inkjet Platform Center to Deliver Keynote at TAGA Conference
ROCHESTER, NY—March 10, 2010—Randy Vandagriff, General Manager, Graphics Inkjet Platform Center, Kodak, will serve as a keynote speaker at the 62nd Annual Technical Conference of the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) on March 14, 2010. Vandagriff will discuss the digital transformation of the graphic arts industry and introduce the audience to Kodak Stream Inkjet Technology, an innovative continuous inkjet technology that delivers offset class output without compromise in quality, productivity or cost.
Vandagriff’s keynote presentation kicks off the conference, beginning at 2:15 p.m., at the Horton Grand Hotel in San Diego, Calif. TAGA is the global professional association for the graphic arts industry. TAGA’s annual technical conference is designed to keep industry professionals up to date on research and new technology.
Based on 40 years of research and expertise in inkjet technology innovation, Kodak Stream Inkjet Technology is a breakthrough technology that will enable book publishing and high-volume commercial printers to capitalize on all of the advantages of digital printing. Stream Inkjet Technology is currently available in the new Kodak Prosper Press Platform, including the Kodak Prosper 1000 Press for monochrome applications and the Kodak Prosper 5000XL Press for color applications.
“Inkjet printing is transforming the printing industry,” Vandagriff said. “Currently, only a small percentage of the 77 trillion pages produced annually are printed digitally, but Stream will change that. Delivering image quality, productivity, total cost of ownership and substrate flexibility that rivals offset printing, Stream Inkjet Technology provides the added benefit of variable data printing.”
As general manager of Kodak’s Graphics Inkjet Platform Center, Vandagriff is responsible for advancing the development of continuous inkjet technology and guiding its commercial development. He has more than 27 years of experience in research, product development and the manufacturing of inkjet printing equipment. He is a named inventor on a number of patents in the printing arts, and he has successfully led projects to develop and commercialize continuous and ink-jet printing technologies for use in KODAK products.
