Innové Global Solutions Unveils New Hot Knife Technology Developed for Komfi Laminators

KNOXVILLE, TN—February 19, 2015—Innové Global Solutions has unveiled new Hot Knife technology, just developed by Komfi Laminators. Komfi is a top-end manufacturer of high quality compact laminating systems, located in the Czech Republic, and represented by Innové throughout North America.

Coupled with the powerful Sagitta laminator and feeder, the revolutionary Hot Knife technology offers a highly effective way to separate challenging films, including Mirror Metalized films, NyPro nylon films, thicker PET and AGX films and more. The Hot Knife utilizes a high speed rotating head, which detects the sheet overlap by ultrasonic sensors, which control the rotation speed of knife. Hot Knife technology operates at 400°C, and also has a bursting mechanism to provide incredibly clean sheet separation. “The Komfi Hot Knife is amazing,” declared Steve Truan, Innove’s Global Equipment Development manager, earlier today. “It delivers incredible fire power for hard-to-cut laminates, and makes challenging sheets separations a total snap—cleanly.”

The Sagitta operating platform, already known the world over for volume laminating production, takes high-performance finishing to the next level. For print or packaging, the Sagitta stands tall for speed (over 160 ft./min.), performance (European engineering and world-class controls) and ease of use. Standard features include a five-zone electrical heating system, pneumatic sheet separation using rotating or hot knives, the famous Komfi feeding head, a PUR nip roller and a jogging table. Optional features include a film slitter for in-line roll slitting, an anti-static bar, an automatic pallet stacker, an embossing unit and the well-known extended- height feeder and stacker, which allows pile heights of nearly 4 ft. For paper weights, the unit easily handles from 60# text weight up to 24 pt. board (32 pt. board when specially equipped).
