ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — February 16, 2016 — Komori America today announced its open house, held at Komori’s Graphic Technology Center, Feb. 9 and 10, located here, was deemed a huge success by attendees. More than 70 printers spent two days learning how Komori’s latest technologies can help them navigate today’s ever-changing marketing terrain with innovative print applications that generate new revenue.
At the event, attendees were invited to walk through each step of an integrated marketing campaign — from the printing of a variable direct mail piece that invited the recipient to build a personalized jeep using a link to a landing page to the production of a full-color brochure that showcased the requested features of the new vehicle — demonstrating how three different Komori presses can work together to produce high-end, high-quality, on-demand print applications that drive engagement. Presses demonstrated included the TruePress Jet520HD, the Impremia IS29 and the Lithrone G40 Perfector.
"It was exciting to show customers how fast and efficient it can be to create variable, versioned inkjet print and high-quality offset work that can generate higher response rates and build brand awareness and customer loyalty for their customers," said Jacki Hudmon, senior vice president of sales. "This open house also served as the official U.S. launch of the Impremia IS29, and visitors were extremely impressed with the print quality. We also wanted to show our commitment as a true business partner, continuing to provide our customers a road map for increasing profits and meeting future market demands."
In addition to the demonstrations, attendees enjoyed a lunchtime presentation by David Erlandson from Caslon and Company on "Inkjet in the Production Digital Printing Market." Afternoon sessions presented by Highcon, Mitsubishi Paper and MBO also gave attendees a greater understanding of the digital landscape.
About the Presses Demonstrated at the Open House
Introduced at GRAPH EXPO 2015, the TruePress Jet520HD is a high-speed, high-definition inkjet press powered by Screen’s award-winning Equios Digital Front Workflow solution. Komori America is the sole distributor in the U.S. of Screen’s TruePress Jet520HD. Its sharp quality opens additional markets and applications for on-demand printing at speeds and economies unmatched in cut sheet digital. The Impremia IS29 is the first press of its kind — an inkjet, sheet-fed UV device that operates in perfecting or straight mode, does not require pre-coated paper and runs at speeds of 3,300 sheets per hour in straight mode.
The IS29 is ideal for short run, high-quality versioned and or variable data jobs. An eight-color Lithrone G40 perfector (GL40P) press, the third press demonstrated at the open house, was equipped with Komori’s H-UV technology. With H-UV, the press delivers bindery ready sheets with no wait time required — ideal for fast turnaround jobs. "Komori is truly the only press manufacturer that can provide this broad array of output solutions and help its customers expand their business," said Hudmon.
