Komori’s Customer Open House a Success, Demonstrates Sustainability

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL—October 4, 2010—Komori America hosted 300 guests and print vendor partners at an open house held on Saturday at its facility here. The event showcased the company’s commitment to sustainability by presenting technology that supports press efficiency and reduced waste.

Attendees were greeted with a live performance by Japanese drummers followed by a welcome from Kosh Miyao, president and COO of Komori America. After dinner Komori Corp.’s President and CEO Yoshiharu Komori spoke to the group, highlighting the company's continued commitment to the global print market by providing customers with the solutions that meet the changing demands of the marketplace and a dedication to new product development that supports the power of print.

Of great interest to attendees was a demonstration of Komori’s new KH-UV (Komori High Performance UV) drying system. Showcased on the LS 840P press, KH-UV utilizes 75 percent less energy than other UV systems and has benefits for two-sided printing—delivering mark-free, bindery ready sheets.

Additionally, printers were shown how the Lithrone S series presses reduce makeready and waste with the ability to achieve stable color in just 20 sheets.

“Our goal this year has been to invest in activities that establish productive, one-on-one interaction with customers and this Open House was a great opportunity to do that. We’re extremely pleased with the results,” said Susan Baines, director of marketing for Komori America.
