Komori to Introduce Next Generation of Technology and Services
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. - June 1, 2018 - Komori America announced it will be exhibiting at IGAS 2018, a comprehensive international trade show on print media showcasing the latest products, technology and services. At the show, Komori will be presenting new technologies and solutions that create added value and lead the way to the next generation of print. IGAS 2018 will be held in Tokyo from July 26 through July 31, 2018 at Tokyo Big Sight. Komori is hosting the exhibition’s largest booth, under the theme “INNOVATE TO CREATE.” Visitors to the Komori booth will be introduced to a wide range of products and solutions that answer current challenges, support business innovation and deliver on the promise of a profitable future.
Demonstrations will start with Komori’s KP-Connect, middleware that connects processes and provides visualization of production status such as operating conditions and operating controls. Visitors to the booth will be introduced to the concept of Connected Automation, a process that maximizes production efficiency by linking prepress, press and post-press using the evolved KP-Connect.
New offset technologies include the compact, yet highly capable Lithrone G37 (GL37). Debuted at drupa 2016, this press has been updated and re-engineered to combine both functionality and design. It offers a 25x37˝ maximum sheet size and includes a CMS color bar on the sheet margin for 8-up A4 or U.S. letter size impositions. It is an ideal solution for handling a wide range of needs in publishing and commercial printing on both light and heavy stocks. The GL37 press is equipped with Komori’s proprietary H-UV L (LED) instant curing system to enable fast turnaround and higher productivity. Also, being shown for the first time is the eight-color 37˝ convertible perfecting offset press, the Lithrone G37P (GL37P). Equipped with a new, advanced perfecting mechanism and offering stable one-pass double-sided printing, the GL37P’s compact footprint expands installation possibilities for users with space restrictions and comes equipped with Komori’s environmentally friendly H-UV L (LED) instant curing system. Offering high-level labor savings and high productivity, this 37˝ press sets a new standard in durability and ease of maintenance.
The Impremia IS29, Komori’s award-winning inkjet UV printing system, will also be front and center at the show. The Impremia IS29 is a state-of-the-art inkjet printing system capable of printing on a wide range of stocks, including ordinary offset paper. By taking advantage of UV inkjet characteristics, the IS29 is ideal for not only commercial print applications, but also package printing.
Next to the IS29 on the floor will be the Highcon Euclid III digital cutting and creasing system. Komori will demonstrate how the Highcon Euclid III complements Komori’s advanced printing systems with its ability to remove bottlenecks in the post-press process, as well as deliver increased design flexibility by offering a wide range of applications that include unique packaging solutions, intricate cutouts, etching, and unique scoring capabilities - all on demand.
Komori’s popular Lithrone GX40 (GLX40) with coater will be in the booth, demonstrating advanced printing control and a high-precision print inspection system that enhances high-speed package printing and specialty printing. The GLX40 will be shown with optional accessories that include the PDF Comparator System, the Sheet Numbering System and the automatic mask creation software for improved inspection efficiency in packaging applications.
Visitors seeking a 40˝ one-pass, double-sided press will find it in the Lithrone GX40RP (GLX40RP). The GLX40RP requires no reversing of the sheet, maximizing print area and making it an ideal solution for the increasing demand for package printing with double-sided multi-color printing. Equipped with the latest Komori technologies, this state-of-the-art press provides the ultimate in short make-ready and fast turnaround.
Additional new technology solutions that will be on exhibit include:
- Komori Apressia series - a new lineup of high-speed cutting systems:
- Apressia CTX132 - a programmable hydraulic clamp cutting system
- Apressia DC105 - a 40˝ automatic flatbed die cutting and creasing machine
- Apressia MB110E - a high-performance blanking system
Finally, Komori’s K-Supply consumables, materials and equipment will be featured in the K-Supply/Service Corner and used on exhibit presses. Products that meet stringent environmental requirements will also be shown. The Komori Ecology Corner will have solutions for those seeking a higher level of sustainability in their facilities and the Print Gallery will display an array of diverse high added-value printed items from around the world that use special techniques and an introduction to the printing methods and application cases used.
