Komori to Show B1-Size Impremia NS40, Impremia IS29 and Lithrones at drupa 2016
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — April 6, 2016 — At drupa 2016, Komori’s main theme will be "Open New Pages," as the company highlights new business models that connect customers with Komori by linking offset, inkjet and the management factors related to printing plant production and quality. Komori will present technology and solutions at drupa 2016 that answer the demand for customers looking for new ways to grow and profit and develop a successful path to becoming a print media enterprise.
Following Komori’s subtheme, "Connected Print," drupa 2016 marks the start of general availability of the Impremia IS29, Komori’s inkjet UV printing system. The Impremia IS29 is an inkjet printing system capable of printing on a wide range of stocks. By taking advantage of UV inkjet characteristics, this system is ideal for not only commercial print applications, but also package printing.
Also being demonstrated on the stand is the innovative B1-size Impremia NS40 digital printing system that uses the new nanotechnology under license from Landa Corp. This new product will perform high-speed printing at 6,500 sheets per hour and is the world’s first B1 inkjet printing system. Visitors will experience the technical innovations and performance improvements made in the four years since initial introduction at drupa 2012.
Visitors looking for a one-pass, double-sided press that extends the "OffsetOnDemand world" need look no further than the Lithrone GX40RP. It is equipped with the latest Komori technologies to provide the ultimate short makeready by using parallel control and high productivity up to 18,000 sheets per hour. The GX40RP requires no flipping of the sheet, maximizing print area and making it an ideal solution for the increasing demand for package printing with double-sided multi-color printing.
Komori’s popular Lithrone GX40 with coater will also be on the stand demonstrating advanced printing control and a high-precision print inspection system that enhances high-speed package printing and specialty printing. The machine exhibited will be shown with optional accessories that include the PDF Comparator System, the Sheet Numbering System and the automatic mask creation software for improved inspection efficiency in packaging applications. All offset presses on the show floor will be equipped with Komori’s proprietary H-UV innovative curing system and demonstrated using K-Supply H-UV ink.
Making its debut in Düsseldorf is the new Lithrone G29 29˝ offset printing press. With a renovated design, this press is capable of the kind of high quality printing that is a perfect match for H-UV printing, which is in increasing demand. Equipping this press with the latest in systems and automated devices, it provides short makeready and reduced total lead times.
Another compact, yet highly capable, press to be introduced at drupa 2016 is the new Lithrone G37. Perfect for producing a 25x37˝ maximum sheet size, this press can produce A1-size products and is designed as an ideal solution for handling a wide range of needs in publishing and commercial printing using either light or heavy stock. The drupa machine will also feature Komori’s new H-UV L (LED) instant curing system that enhances the low energy footprint of the GL37.
Additionally, Komori ICT (Information Communications Technology) Solutions will be on exhibit. Komori ICT solutions provide the powerful support needed for improving pressroom productivity. These consist of:
- KP-Connect, for simple visualization of operating conditions over the cloud anytime and anywhere
- K-Station 4, for optimum scheduling of all presses
- K-Color simulator 2, Komori’s color management system for high-level color matching of offset and digital
Komori’s K-Supply consumables will be featured in the K-Supply/Service corner that will also provide information on ancillary equipment designed to integrate seamlessly in the pressroom.
Komori will demonstrate the Apressia CT137 cutter as a part of its print engineering service provider business, demonstrating cutting of printed sheets that have been cured by the H-UV system and finishing as final products.
Finally, two special areas will be of interest to visitors. The Komori Ecology Corner will have solutions for those seeking a higher level of sustainability in their facilities and the Web Offset/Chambon Corner will showcase printing samples from an H-UV equipped Komori-Chambon press displayed to further confirm the amazing print quality possible with H-UV.
