Theresa Taylor, the President of PIP Printing and Marketing in Anderson, S.C., describes her business as a “small local print shop in a small town.” But her four-person shop was facing some big headaches regarding color registration, color consistency, excessive end-user intervention, and downtime with her print production equipment.
For a two-year period as these issues hindered business, Konica Minolta (Booth 2031) Sales Representative Elizabeth Meadows was visiting the shop. Though Konica Minolta’s solutions weren’t the least expensive of the competition, Taylor felt that the Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS C1085, bizhub PRESS 1250, and the bizhub PRO 950 provided the better overall solutions for her issues. And she now manages color with Konica Minolta Color Care and an ISIS Color Scanner.
But it was the “diligent” Meadows, Taylor emphasizes, that led her to consider Konica Minolta.
“If it had not been for the sales rep, who was very diligent about coming to visit and just learning about what we did here, I would’ve never considered switching to Konica Minolta,” Taylor says. “She was interested in my business, and she put a lot of effort into learning how my business worked and what I needed.”
Benefits
Since the Konica Minolta solutions were implemented in January 2015, Taylor’s business has realized a number of benefits, including:
- Less user intervention when running and setting up jobs.
- Staff no longer wrestling with color registration or quality.
- Increased equipment uptime.
- An increase in color sales by 12%.
- Significant waste reduction due to improved color management and color consistency.
Taylor is pleased with the Konica Minolta solutions, especially the 200-page bookletmaking capability. Also, the integral folding unit which came with the FD-503 inserter helps with the high volume of marketing pieces they now do on the fly. Taylor notes that, with this unexpected capability, they no longer have to set up an offline folder for smaller jobs.
