Konica Minolta, Cohber and Rochester Advertising Federation Kick Off First-Ever AD Week 2017
RAMSEY, N.J. - October 19, 2017 - Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA (Konica Minolta), a technology leader in the Graphic Communications industry, and its AccurioPress KM-1 partner, Cohber, have announced the official kick-off of the Rochester Advertising Federation’s inaugural AD Week, a week-long series of educational events highlighting contemporary visual communications in November.
The opening affair, “Printing With Purpose,” will take place on Oct. 24 at Cobher headquarters in West Henrietta, N.Y., from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Designed to educate consumers about new advances in digital inkjet technology, it will demonstrate for attendees how local agencies and creative teams work with Cohber to support the community and amplify their presence through stunning visual print communications. There will also be a curated exhibit onsite featuring eye-catching printed collateral produced for some of Konica Minolta’s local community partners’ campaigns. Refreshments will be served.
“Printing With Purpose” attendees will get a hands-on interactive look at the advanced technology of the Konica Minolta KM-1 Digital Inkjet Press and witness its superior image quality mirroring offset lithography.
“The four-color B2+ sheet fed UV Inkjet press will help us produce high-quality digital and hybrid print jobs, capturing new market opportunities for growth and expansion,” said Eric Webber, President and CEO, Cohber. “It will allow us to take on new jobs, media types and transition cost effective work from offset.”
“We compared other technologies that have been on the market for years and see the AccurioJet KM-1 as the best long-term decision and growth platform for our future,” said Chris Bowen, Chief Technology Officer, Cohber.
The theme of AD Week is “Community + Craft” and it will host a variety of stations throughout the week that will feature:
Fashion Week Rochester (FWR) and Partners+Napier, benefitting the Center for Youth. The Center provides comprehensive programs and services from prevention education to counseling to emergency shelter to youth development opportunities with respect for and full participation of youth. FWR and The Center for Youth are celebrating their eighth year of programming, with Partners + Napier joining the effort last year to contribute even further to the program’s success. Paper and vinyl posters, printed on the KM-1, used in the FWR marketing will be on display for participants to view. Attendees will be able to participate in an interactive activity by walking the red carpet and having their photos taken with Fashion Week Rochester Models.
The Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley, an organization that promotes economic self-sufficiency for women and girls through grant-making and education, will be featured. Posters and a beautiful poetry booklet, part of a recent campaign, will be on display. Its interactive activity will be a live poetry reading by poet Gianni White, The Rebel Flower Bomb (therebelflowerbomb.com), who served as the inspiration for the latest “Hey Goddess” campaign.
