REHOVOT, Israel — April 6, 2017 — Landa has announced its final 2017 beta customer line-up. The first shipment of the Landa S10 Nanographic Printing Press will take place in July 2017 to Graphica Bezalel, the award-winning Israel-based folding carton, packaging and label convertor. In November 2017, Landa will ship North America's first Landa S10 Nanographic Printing Press to Imagine!, a U.S.-based leader of point-of-purchase solutions. In December 2017, Edelmann, the German-headquartered world leader of high-quality and innovative board and paper packaging solutions, will become the first European beta customer for the Landa S10 Nanographic Printing Press.
Graphica Bezalel — First Landa S10 Beta Customer
As a traditional offset print house, Graphica Bezalel has selected the Landa S10 Nanographic Printing Press as its first digital solution, affording it the unique competitive advantage of high-speed, high-quality digitally printed folding carton production.
The award-winning, Israeli-based folding carton, packaging and label converter will receive its Landa press in July 2017, where it will be used to support local, as well as market-leading, international retail brands.
Eyal Harpak, Director of Graphica Bezalel, comments: "Nanography is the first technology to tempt us into the world of digital print. Until we saw what the Landa S10 could produce, we couldn't believe that any digital press could match offset print quality at the high-speeds required to open-up the medium-run folding carton market. We were astonished with what Benny Landa and the team have achieved."
Harpak continues, "Working with leading companies like Calvin Klein, Carlsberg, Nestlé, Coca-Cola, SodaStream and others, we know that brands are always looking for new ways to increase on-shelf appeal and sales. With the incredible color palette provided by the Nanographic printing process — colors that really stand out — customers will be excited with what the Landa S10 has to offer. Through increased production flexibility, the Landa S10 provides unique abilities to reduce inventory costs through shorter runs, respond quicker to customer needs, and increase the ability to version with customized packaging and special promotions."
Yishai Amir, Landa CEO, also comments, "Graphica Bezalel are great visionaries in packaging printing and converting, and have won a number of prestigious Israeli and international awards. We are thrilled that they have embraced the technological and business benefits of Nanography, and we look forward to pioneering print packaging together."
Landa and Graphica Bezalel will hold a worldwide customer event during the week of September 12, 2017, to demonstrate the Landa S10 in a customer production environment.
Imagine! — North America's First Landa S10 Beta Customer
As announced at drupa 2016, Imagine!, a leading provider of large-scale, point-of-sale displays and in-store signage, remains on track to become the first beta site for the Landa S10 Nanographic Printing Press in North America. The Landa S10 press will eliminate setup waste and be used to create versioned stacks of printed product that will dramatically reduce the high costs associated with fulfillment services.
"We bought this press because of Benny Landa's track record in developing innovative, industry-changing technology," says Bob Lothenbach, founder at Imagine! "We don't usually chase technology trends, however we believe in Nanography and want to be instrumental in the digital-for-mainstream revolution. Nanography is the first digital printing solution with the format sizes and speeds that will let us migrate our applications away from offset. The reduced setup costs and improved turnaround times will bring substantial growth to our business."
Benny Landa, chairman of the Landa Group, comments, “Imagine! has an amazing reputation for never saying 'no' to its customers, whom it regards as partners. We are proud to have such a company as our partner in bringing Nanography to the POP/POS and in-store signage markets. Imagine! is a creative and innovative pioneer of in-store marketing solutions and we are delighted to play our part in helping to transition its business from offset to digital.”
