CHICAGO—October 16, 2008—Lasermax Roll Systems is exhibiting solutions for speed and color at Graph Expo 2008 in Chicago. The company has partnered with each of the major digital printer manufacturers to ensure that its products take full advantage of the speed and color capabilities of the latest generation of high-speed digital printers, whether those printers are full process color, highlight color or monochrome; cut sheet or continuous web.
In a technology demonstration in the Lasermax Roll Systems booth (#3053), a new version of the established Web Vision™ print quality assurance system that accommodates today's new color digital printers is being unveiled. Using high resolution cameras to scan in-line the full width of digitally printed bills, statements and documents, Web Vision captures very large, high quality images to enable automated analysis of image quality, data integrity and workflow processes. In addition to monitoring color output, Web Vision has also been upgraded to run at speeds up to 500 ft/min. Web Vision is being exhibited in-line with the Lasermax Roll Systems RS Roll-to-Roll SD system.
In a first US showing, the new LX700 stacking solution also is appearing as a technology demonstration in the Lasermax Roll Systems booth, operating at speeds up to 600 ft/min. The LX700 includes features to ensure compatibility with color printers, such as a divert gate for waste sheets. Motors on each LX700 module in a print line are synchronized, for reliable handling of lightweight applications as light as 11 pound bond / 40 gsm.
The new Lasermax Roll Systems 320 Processor is also being exhibited for the first time in the US. The 300 Processor series capabilities include tractor hole punching, file hole punching, fanfold cross perforating, and dynamic cross and vertical perforating for remittance coupons. By purchasing unconverted paper and converting in-line, users can gain significant paper savings.
Rounding out the Lasermax Roll booth, the recently introduced RSF5 Folder bulk fanfolding solution is being shown. RSF5 features automatic thread-up, unique stack compression for flat stacks and reliable inserter feeding, automatic ejection of stacks up to 39" high, and a small footprint.
The DocuSheeter™ NV-R roll feed system for the Xerox Nuvera™ 288 Digital Perfecting System is being introduced in the Xerox booth (#1219). Expanding the capabilities of the standard DocuSheeter NV, this new model adds a sheet rotation module to optimize grain direction for customers running applications where it is advantageous to have the paper grain running parallel to the folded and/or bound edge, such as perfect bound, case bound, and saddle stitched documents. DocuSheeter cuts and feeds sheets from 50" diameter rolls on demand to the Xerox Nuvera. The large rolls run for a shift or more before depleting, maximizing both operator and printer productivity.
In the Océ booth (#2400), the DocuSheeter VP6000 roll feed system is being exhibited on the Océ VarioPrint® 6250 cut sheet duplex printer. DocuSheeter VP6000 cuts and feeds single sheets on demand from a large 50" diameter roll to the VarioPrint 6250. Also in the Océ booth, an RS Roll-to-Roll SD provides unwinding and rewinding for the Océ ColorStream 10000.
In the Kodak booth (#600), the LX Roll-to-Roll is feeding the new Kodak Versamark VL2000. Operating at speeds up to 500 feet/minute, with hours of production between loading and unloading, there is no more efficient solution for handling digital printer output.
In the InfoPrint Solutions Company (IPS) booth (#2274), the Lasermax Roll Systems LX Stack is operating in-line with the InfoPrint® 4100 MD1/MD2. LX Stack system cuts and stacks 1-up, 2-up, 2-up merged or 3-up streams of sheets at speeds up to 450 feet/minute.
In the CP Bourg booth (#2219), the LX Saddle Stitch is partnering with the IBIS Smart-binder to produce saddle-stitched booklets from roll paper, demonstrating a complete in-line booklet binding system available for continuous digital printers.
Finally, multiple LX550 Unwinds are feeding BÖWE Bell + Howell inserters in the BÖWE Bell + Howell booth (#1253).
Lasermax Roll Systems is the world's largest manufacturer of automated paper handling, quality assurance, converting, and finishing equipment for high-speed electronic and digital printing. Its products are sold and serviced in over 50 countries.
