To quote Bob Dylan, “The times they are a-changin,” and in the graphics industry no truer words could be said. With so many new technologies vying for one’s attention, it is critical to gain insight from experienced leaders who can provide perspective. The Learning Experience education program at PRINT 17 has organized a strategic agenda to demystify and help show attendees understand the impact of these changes. A dynamic experience has been created to ensure attendees not only visit key industry suppliers on the show floor, but get an opportunity to learn from industry leaders. This year’s program is loaded with dynamic free and paid education sessions. In today’s rapidly changing environment one must learn how to tackle the ever-changing content media challenges. There is no substitute for good education.
PRINT 17 starts on with OUTLOOK 17—a place to hear from speakers who will share their perspectives as to what is reshaping the industry.
Monday, September 11 at 8 am in Room S102ab begins with the first of a new series called Distinguished Leaders with Tod Szewczyk, VP, Director Emerging Technology & Innovation of Leo Burnett, discussing what is “The Future of People, Technology and Advertising.” Tuesday, at the same time and place, starts with Michael Chase, CMO of St. Joseph Communications speaking about “Print in a Digital World 2018 Trend Report.” Both of these events are free to attendees.
The entire education program has been revamped based on past attendee input. The seminars have been reduced in length from 90 minutes to 50 minutes. The sessions are also only being held in the morning to provide more time for attendees to visit exhibitors in the afternoon to see first-hand what they just learned. The program has also invited many new speakers to teach on new impactful topics, which are tailored to the diverse needs of attendees. Based on feedback, the Labs are being maintained as they were in the past with new topics that should be of great interest. Visit print2017.com for more details, and to view specific sessions.
Another new education format is The Learning Experience Theater—free education on the show floor. This theater will present speakers discussing recent industry research done by PRIMIR (Booth 3255), NAPCO (Booth 451), and others, as well as six printer panels on diverse subjects: MIS Magic, Materials Matter, Finishing Touches, Is Ink Jet the Future?, Disruptive Offset Technologies, and Mailing Success. Each of these sessions are free. In addition, each afternoon at 3:00 pm, a PRINT VOICES open mike experience will occur, where attendees will have the opportunity to candidly speak their mind on subjects like social media, storytelling the message, and the job market. Beverages will also be served in this reception-style, free session.
Assisting in the education process even further are Show Floor Tours. These guided tours will be focused on three of the printer panel sessions: MIS Magic, Finishing Touches, Ink Jet, and one dedicated to the in-plant market. The three related to the printer panels will take place right after the panel, so the information presented can be reinforced with visits to the exhibitors specific to that topic.
PRINT 17 provides an exceptional opportunity for people in all types of content delivery markets to educate and discover what is emerging in the marketplace. Graphics companies must educate themselves to new growth-oriented services and products that can help their respective customers be more successful. PRINT 17 is the place where education and technology converge, and where an attendee can gain insight and access to people and technologies changing the graphics world.
