COHOES, N.Y. — September 26, 2016 — Mohawk, North America’s largest privately-owned manufacturer of fine papers, envelopes and specialty substrates for commercial and digital printing, has nearly 60 papers and specialty substrates running on OEM equipment at Graph Expo 2016.
Mohawk’s extensive digital portfolio is being showcased in the Mohawk booth (# 2413) and by original equipment manufacturers in attendance at Graph Expo, including, Canon, Xerox, HP, Konica Minolta and MGI. Samples are running live as demos in the booths of Mohawk’s OEM (original equipment manufacturer) partners, and others are being featured as pre-printed samples available throughout the show floor.

Canon (Booth #1500) is featuring a variety of Mohawk fine papers and specialty substrates in various finishes and weights running on the Canon imagePRESS C800 and imagePRESS C10000VP.
- Mohawk Dimensional Superfine Eggshell i-Tone is being used to produce pocket folders.
- Mohawk Everyday Digital and Mohawk Color Copy is being used for numerous samples including books, postcards, brochures and business cards.
- Mohawk Embedded Premium Polyester Cards is being utilized to demonstrate high-quality ID cards.
- Mohawk Dimensional Premium Polyester 3-up Door Hangers is being used to demonstrate parking passes.
- Mohawk Dimensional C1S Invitation Mailer 2-up is being used to produce invitations.
At HP (Booth #1825), HP is highlighting Mohawk Carnival Vellum i-Tone Yellow on a variety of HP Indigo presses and Mohawk Wide Format Dupont Tyvek 7 mil on the HP PageWideXL8000 to showcase the outstanding print quality on a variety of print applications.
In addition, HP is showcasing the award-winning American Craft Council (ACC) Emerging Voices Awards publication in its booth at Graph Expo. The publication was produced at the Mohawk Print Innovation Center in collaboration with the American Craft Council. The publication has been honored with a 2016 Gold Ink Award and was also recognized with an HP Inkspiration Award at the 2016 DSCOOP annual conference.
Konica Minolta (Booth #1801), Konica Minolta Bizhub PRESS models C1070 and C1100 is utilizing a wide variety of Mohawk substrates to produce dust jackets, banners, ID cards and wrist bands.
These high-value applications are being showcasing Mohawk Superfine, Via, Everyday Digital and Color Copy papers. Specialty substrates including new Dimensional Premium Polyester Wrist bands and Butterfly ID Cards are also in the spotlight and many applications will be enhanced with MGI technologies including the MGI Meteor Unlimited Colors press.
Konica Minolta is producing a tip-on using Mohawk Everyday Digital Coated in 120 cover which will be digitally varnished & foiled using MGI technology for Imaging Channel Magazine.
Konica Minolta is also hosting an invite-only offsite demo event at Postcard Mania to showcase one of its first North American installs of the new AccurioJet KM-1 high-speed UV inkjet press. At the event, Mohawk Superfine will be used to create outer folders, yardage cards, VIP Pass and score cards, outer golf ball boxes, posters, event brochures and direct mail postcards, Mohawk Via are being utilized to run canvas print posters and printed invitations, and Mohawk Synthetic Rigid Vinyl will be used for a golf hole signage application. Many samples also feature digital varnish and foil made possible by MGI Technology.
MGI (Booth #2149), is showcasing a variety of Mohawk digital substrates on the MGI color Meteor DP 8700XL+, including Mohawk Superfine with i-Tone, Strathmore Writing with i-Tone, Mohawk Synthetic Premium Polyester, and Mohawk Pressure Sensitive Polyester with Permanent Adhesive to demonstrate a variety of high quality applications.
MGI is also producing a tip-on card on Mohawk Everyday Digital Coated Cover for PostPress Magazine using its award-winning JETvarnish 3D with iFoil which creates eye-catching digital embossing and hot foil enhancements.
Xerox (Booth # 1625) Xerox Versant 2100 press features a variety of Mohawk Fine Papers, Specialty Substrates and Premium Envelopes used in a variety of print applications, including Mohawk Premium Polyester Red, Curious Collection Metallic ICE GOLD and SILVER, and Mohawk Superfine Envelopes.
Materials Matter Pavilion
Mohawk is exhibiting within the Materials Matter pavilion (booth #2413) at Graph Expo. The Materials Matter pavilion features fine paper and substrate companies to demonstrate the powerful role that paper and non-paper substrates play in every print project.
