Mac Papers Named Exclusive Distributor of Heidelberg Saphira Consumables Line in Southeastern U.S.

JACKSONVILLE, FL—June 30, 2014—Heidelberg USA and Mac Papers have announced that the two companies have finalized an agreement that names Mac Papers as the exclusive distributor in the Southeastern United States for Heidelberg’s Saphira line, including plates, computer-to-plate technology and coatings.

The deal continues the expansion of Mac Papers’ wide-format and graphics division and underscores the company’s commitment to becoming the premier partner for the commercial print industry’s needs.

The new distribution agreement revises Heidelberg’s go-to-market strategy in the United States, where the company traditionally has sold Saphira consumables direct to consumers. It also comes just 18 months after Heidelberg began manufacturing operations at its new Hi-Tech coatings plant near Detroit.

In the coming weeks, Mac Papers will begin stocking inventory for next-day delivery from its 22 distribution facilities and for same-day pick-up at its 18 Mini Mac retail stores. The agreement also allows Mac Papers to rely on the extensive testing of Saphira products in Heidelberg’s demo center in Kennesaw, GA.
