Mac Papers to Open New 120,653-Square-Foot Retail, Distribution Center in Antioch, TN
JACKSONVILLE, FL—January 13, 2015—Mac Papers, a distributor of fine papers, envelopes, printing supplies and equipment, packaging solutions and office supplies based here, has 12.64 acres in The Crossings area of Antioch, TN, under contract with plans to construct a 120,653-square-foot facility that contains a regional office, distribution center and retail space, reported The Tennessean.
Marking its 50th year in business, the company currently has 22 branch locations and 18 Mini Mac paper stores throughout an eight-state region. This new facility would be Mac Papers' second in Antioch. The first, opened just two years ago, houses management staff plus sales, purchasing and warehouse operations.
The company's expansion in Antioch is the latest boost to the city's economy, which has added several employers in recent years, according to the newspaper. "I'm excited because one of the goals for our area is to create an employment center, and so we want to bring more employees to the area," explained Jacobia Dowell, who represents the community in Metro Council.
According to the paper, car dealer Ben Freeland owns the land on which Mac Papers is planning to locate its new facility. Civil engineering firm Site Engineering Consultants of Murfreesboro is seeking to revise the preliminary planned unit development plan to allow for the project.
A one-story structure with 54 parking spaces at the proposed Crossings area site is being planned, according to the filing with Metro planners.
Dave Milleman, an official at Mac Papers, declined to comment on the company's plans for the new location, said the paper.
