Maggio Data Forms Means Business with MCS Eagle Inkjet Printing Solution

GAITHERSBURG, MD—July 30, 2012—MCS Inc. is pleased to announce the installation of an Eagle inkjet printing system with a 4.25˝ print head at Maggio Data Forms. Since 1978, family-owned Maggio has been dedicated to supplying business forms and other specialty printing exclusively to the trade. The company manufactures in two locations—Hauppauge, NY and Bellmawr, NJ.

“Changing technology has provided new opportunities for us and our trade partners, and we have added products to help our distributors respond and better compete in their markets,” noted Jim Maggio, founder and owner. “The MCS purchase made a huge difference in their ability to sell bar code applications.

“We acquired the MCS Eagle inkjet to do consecutive bar codes on business forms. When we first moved away from traditional press number machines, we acquired another inkjet to handle the application, and it was a disaster. It was unreliable, it didn’t print well and you had to watch it like a hawk during production. It was horrible to say the least,” Maggio recounted.

“We’re much more confident with the MCS inkjet,” he continued. “Now we can run any size, any color, and in either direction (sideways vs. lengthwise). It obsoletes all other press number machines. The equipment is reliable, as are their people.”

Maggio Data Forms uses the UV inkjet printing system on its high-speed web presses. It moves the unit from one piece of equipment to another with minimal effort and setup. The shop is able to swap the ink out from black to red with a single setup, enabling it to print two separate runs with different colors.

“This equipment really gears up to our schedule on the press floor. All around, it’s just easier to set up, cheaper and more reliable,” added Maggio. “I’d like to think we can handle any numbering request our distributors bring us. We’re just running the heck out of this equipment!”
