Ipex 2010 Event Director Trevor Crawford says: “With almost two years to go until Ipex 2010, floor space sales are ahead of schedule with 25 of the top 40 major exhibitors increasing their collective footprints by 35% compared to 2006. Ipex 2010 is on course to sell out in record time.
“In addition, the industry has been extremely upbeat about the introduction of our new improved footprint which provides a logical layout for visitors by mirroring the print production workflow, the new, later dates for Ipex: 18th – 25th May 2010 as well as the launch of our Champions in Print Awards to acknowledge those who have shaped and influenced our industry. Following the outstanding success of Ipex 2006 which attracted a record 40% of international visitors from 159 countries, Ipex is considered to be a truly international event which provides an important global platform for companies involved in the graphic arts industry.”
Following a successful drupa, many of the leading industry players have openly supported Ipex 2010. Keith Dalton, Fujifilm Graphic Systems’ UK Director says: “The great success of drupa 2008 shows exactly how valuable exhibitions still are and Ipex 2010 will be no different. It will provide the perfect viewing platform for customers to survey the whole market first-hand, with all products, technologies and innovations under one huge roof. There will be no better opportunity for printers looking to secure a future of success.”
David Preskett, European Marketing Director, Professional Solutions, Canon Europe, says: “We have already confirmed our attendance at IPEX 2010 and look forward to being part of another successful exhibition for the industry. IPEX allows us to maintain our presence and momentum on the world stage. Our recent focus was heavily centred on the solutions we provide to the industry and we will build on this further as we go forward.
In the middle of a busy drupa, Neil Sutton, MD of Komori UK, and Junya Shimada, President of Komori International Europe, took time out to commit to a 1200 sqm stand at Ipex 2010. “The strong international focus of Ipex makes it an important event for us,” said Mr Shimada. “The timing of the show fits perfectly into our development cycle, making it the ideal launch pad for our latest press technologies.”
Ronald Marien, Marketing Communications Director at Agfa Graphics comments: “drupa has come to an end so Ipex 2010 is that next important meeting place. We’re already looking forward to presenting our newest technologies in prepress and digital printing at the next Ipex exhibition. We expect Ipex 2010 to attract even more European and oversees visitors than before, making it the second largest meeting place for the industry after drupa.”
Kai Büntemeyer, Managing Partner at Kolbus GmbH & Co. KG explains that “some decision makers in the industry question the need for trade shows. However, at the great trade shows, our customers discover the unknown unknowns; they find our products before they know that they are looking for them. That is why we owe it to our customers to support important shows, and Ipex 2010 will be one of them.”
