manroland Partners With Customers
WESTMONT, IL—09/21/2009—The recent PRINT 09 show at McCormick Place in Chicago provided yet another opportunity for customers and visitors alike to learn about the wide range of offerings from manroland, Inc. There was much interest in the highly successful PRINTVALUE program and the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive press, in addition to the announcement that PDI of Montreal purchased a ROLAND 900XXL press that will be operational in early October.
There was plenty of activity involving PRINTVALUE at the show, as manroland promoted the services, upgrades, guaranteed consumable products and alternatives which customers need in today’s printing environment. The web printservices® business stood out as several large upgrade and rebuild projects were closed at the show.
PRINTVALUE is a comprehensive support program for sheetfed, commercial web and newspaper customers. manroland provided dedicated space in its PRINT 09 booth for the contract portfolios of printservices®, printcom® and printnet®, plus hourly training sessions each day on a variety of topics.
printcom® recorded excellent results for its Performance Guarantee program. FIfteen new customers signed contracts for the printcom® program. Customers who purchased the printcom® system of products will receive technical training on the materials and onsite application assistance to ensure the press is running optimally. manroland also introduced ProServ Flex, the latest from PRINTVALUE with over 30 preventive maintenance components to assist sheetfed offset customers in optimizing the life cycle costs of their press operation.
manroland’s live demonstrations of the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive press at its Print Technology Center continued to be very popular with show attendees. The early morning demonstrations were held each of the six days during PRINT 09, and those in attendance witnessed the highest technology short-run makeready press available on the market.
Our meeting activity was strong. Combining that with the interest in the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive press and PRINTVALUE, there definitely is more interest, which means the market is showing signs of improvement,” said Paul Foszcz, Marketing Manager. “The goal for PRINT 09 was to bring the services and information to the show that printers need today. Of course, we are always ready to talk about new equipment, but our goals are more than just that.”
manroland customers were recognized at awards events held during PRINT 09. Hal Stratton, Director of Applied Technology, accepted a CIP4 award on behalf of Shinkosha Printing Company, Tokyo, Japan, at the CIPPI awards ceremony. Chicago customer, Digital Hub, was presented with a Bronze Environmental Excellence Award by American Printer.
