manroland Reassigns Execs in Merger of Newspaper Business Units
AUGSBURG, GERMANY—Jan. 24, 2011—Greater integration of business activities as well as consistent processes are major targets in the implementation of manroland’s growth strategy.
As previously announced, the Small Newspaper Presses business unit (Plauen, Germany) will be merged with the Large Newspaper Presses business unit (Augsburg, Germany) to form a Newspaper Printing Systems business unit under a single management structure. Due to the decreasing number of major projects on the market, separate organizations with dual leadership are no longer practical. Georg Riescher (52), formerly executive vice president small newspaper presses, assumed leadership of the combined unit on January 1, 2011.
Anton Hamm (52), previously heading the business unit Large Newspaper Presses, became the Executive Vice President of the Technology Center for Webfed Printing Systems on January 1, 2011. The Technology Center combines training, engineering for testing and processes, as well as the implementation of innovation projects. These initiatives evaluate and establish the foundations for new product divisions.
