MDGM has tapped Ron Ehrhardt, their current Vice President of International Sales, to oversee the Americolor sales operations. "Ron actually started the Americolor promotion when he was with George R. Hall Contracting in 2002. He has superior knowledge and vast experience with the product, so we feel more than comfortable taking the sales for Americolor in-house" added Moreland.
Americolor is currently in use at Charleston (WV) Newspapers on a Goss Metro press, Hagerstown (MD) Morning Herald/Daily Mail on a Goss Cosmo press, and the Bloomington (IN) Herald-Times on a KBA Express 50 press.
2008 was also the year that MDGM brought to market the DGM 1270 folder, a 70,000cph 2:3:4 jaw folder that can be used with Americolor. "We've demonstrated to the industry that we can successfully integrate the Americolor to a variety of presses. Now, with the 2:3:4 jaw folder we can offer new towers and folders placed on existing reels which negates the need for new press buildings, and also allows for web width and cut-off reductions that today's newspapers require" added Ehrhardt.
