OWINGS MILLS, Md.—Strategic Factory, a printing, marketing, signage and graphic design firm, is slated to officially open a new 40,000-square-foot headquarters here, with plans on adding another building in the next two to three years, the Baltimore Sun reported.
The company, which employs approximately 100 people, is seeking to construct a 30,000-square-foot facility in the coming years. By the end of 2015, Strategic Factory will have added about 30 new employees, President and CEO Keith Miller told the newspaper.
The company invested $6.5 million in the new headquarters on an 8.5 acre site that can accommodate the planned building. It received a $1 million loan from the Baltimore County Small Business Loan Fund and $5.5 million in Baltimore County industrial bonds for construction and equipment, the newspaper said.
Miller considers his company to be the kind of business that falls between the quick printer and the commercial printer, filling a niche that could be attractive to the neither-fish-nor-fowl client base that aren't quite mom-and-pop shops or larger regional/national businesses. Strategic Factory consists of four brands: Miller's Minuteman Press, Branded4U, Graphic Tango and Master Signs. This diversification, too, enables that small- to mid-range print buyer to enjoy an expanded gamut of products and services, from a single source.
