New Solution Debuts Memjet-Powered Print, Laminate and Corrugated Printer at drupa
DÜSSELDORF, Germany — June 8, 2016 — Memjet announced that its OEM partner New Solution has incorporated the patented Memjet inkjet printing technology into its all-in-one wide-format labeling and packaging solution, NS Multi. This new multi-layer machine can produce several applications for end-user customers, including printing and laminating on substrates like cardstock and corrugated.
The first sale of the NS Multi took place at drupa 2016, where the company is showcasing the NS Multi and their range of other labeling presses. Visitors of drupa 2016 can see these solutions on display in the Memjet booth (C24 in Hall 5) and in the New Solution booth (Booth E20 in Hall 5) through June 10.
“Printers today are looking for solutions that can help them to gain efficiency and grow their business," says Kevin Shimamoto, general manager, wide-format technology, Memjet. "The NS Multi is the one machine that can achieve both goals at the same time. It enables providers to expand their product offering with applications like wide-format labels, while speeding up their production process. Memjet is proud to be part of this innovative machine.”
The NS Multi is a robust and reliable wide-format solution that can produce a range of applications, including multi-layer film, corrugated card and card. The printer features five-color printheads, and can print at speeds of 300mm/second of 1,600 x 800 dpi and 150mm/second at 1,600 x 1,600 dpi. The NS Multi can accommodate variable widths up to 42˝ or 1.07m.
These features combine to bring a high level of quality printing to a wide range of markets, including the production of food packaging products that require full surface laminating.
Driving the NS Multi is a proprietary software that includes a user-friendly interface that allows users to control all aspects of the machine, including ink level control, consumption and measurements, roll radius measurement, temperature and climate control, and automatic consumables. A powerful PC, which is included as part of the solution, lets users install variable data software and alternative RIP solutions as their business needs develop and grow.
“At New Solution, our goal is to bring innovation and ideas to the service of the digital printing market," says New Solution CEO Eloi Ferreira. "Our partnership with Memjet enables us to realize that goal in a faster, more efficient way. As we keep on learning and growing, we our confident that Memjet can not only support our innovation, they can help us drive it.”
In addition to the NS Multi, New Solution also uses Memjet printheads as part of their range of other labeling and packaging solutions. These products are engineered to bring speed, accuracy and reliability to the label and packaging market:
- The NS PRO is a high-speed single pass inkjet solution for multi job, continuous printing.
- NS F22 is an all-in-one label finishing solution that includes a digital cutting plotter, cold lamination, and a dye cutter and slitter which can be used as a standalone press or integrated in-line with the NS PRO.
“The debut of innovative solutions like the NS MULTI are what make drupa such an exciting event," Shimamoto said. "We look forward to the rest of the show, and to making our technology a part of powerful solutions that can better serve this evolving market.”
