Meredith-Webb Printing, Burlington, NC, to Add KBA Rapida 205 Press and Hire 20 Employees
BURLINGTON, NC—March 11, 2015—One of the largest printers in the Triad region of North Carolina is about to get bigger. The Triad Business Journal reports that Meredith-Webb Printing, located here, has invested more than $7 million in a new KBA Rapida 205 printing press. This new addition will require the company to expand its staff of 105 by adding 15-20 new jobs next year.
Overall, Meredith-Webb Printing has purchased four new presses in the past five years, totaling $20 million in investments. The added capacity from the KBA Rapida 205 will allow the company to print larger formats, thus gaining more business. Display, packaging and heat-transfer materials for the garment industry can be printed at sizes up to 81x60" on the new machine, an offering unique to the Triad area.
"The quicker you can produce higher quality work, the more opportunities there are," explained Executive Vice President Kelly Webb to the Business Journal," so this is going to give us additional capacity to serve existing customers and our new customers because of the ability to turn jobs quickly."
Webb added, "We're attracting good people, we're training good people. It's just been a great period for our company in this area. This area is growing."
