TC Printing Adds Digital Press to its Arsenal
SACRAMENTO, CA—TC Printing has installed an MGI Meteor DP8700 XL multi-substrate digital press that it feels will catapult the company into new markets, expanded its business and grow the printer’s customer base.
A family-owned business founded in 1986 as a Kwik Kopy, TC Printing provides customers with a range of four-color printing capabilities, full-service finishing and binding. The shop caters to a wide customer base, including associations, schools, the health care industry, public relations firms and advertising agencies.
It had been offering digital printing services to customers, but management found that increasing volumes were becoming a challenge for the current digital device to keep up with in terms of consistent quality and uptime. These factors led them on a search for a higher production digital press that could meet customers’ increasing demands and also allow the firm to offer new services and capabilities to customers.
“We were extremely impressed by the quality and the wide range of substrates and formats that the Meteor DP8700 XL offered,” said Jon Harris, part-owner of TC Printing. “Being able to print on sheets up to 40˝ in length allows us to expand into new markets for short-run, full-color prints, such as wrap-around book covers, art prints and quad-fold brochures. Our customers love that they can now get jobs such as full-color, laser-safe letterhead and envelope packages produced in small quantities, and we love that we’re not constrained by a click charge.”
