MGI Receives Fogra Certification for Meteor DP60 Pro Digital Press
IVRY SUR SEINE, FRANCE—06/08/2009—MGI Digital Graphic Technology, the multi-substrate (paper and plastic) digital press and finishing solution manufacturer, announced that the Meteor DP60 Pro® multi-substrate 4-color digital press for high volume applications has received the Fogra certification (ISO 12647-7).
MGI, in cooperation with CGS, achieved the ISO certification on the Meteor DP60 Pro using the ISO coated v2 standard. Under the “FograCert Validation Print Creation” program, the results from the Meteor DP60 Pro exceeded the values defined in ISO 12647-7 for fidelity, homogeneity and consistency.
MGI’s Meteor DP60 Pro currently offers a wide color gamut, excellent color consistency and print stability and can easily integrate into the most complex production printing environments.
Designed for high volume printing, the Meteor DP60 Pro can handle paper weights from 20 lb bond up to 130 lb cover / 194 lb index (70 to 350gsm), producing up to 3900 A4/letter pages per hour. The Meteor DP60 Pro has the largest array of supported sheet sizes among digital presses, ranging from 4” x 6” (100 x 150 mm) up to 13” x 26” (330 x 650 mm) in standard configuration and up to 13” x 40.15” (330 x 1020 mm) in the optional Super Format XL configuration, plus a wide range of envelope sizes.
The most versatile digital press in the industry, the Meteor DP60 Pro also prints on plastics from 4 mil up to 16 mil (from 100µ up to 400µ) and on materials ranging from PVC, Polyester, Polycarbonate, PET, Polypropylene, Vinyl and Teslin®, as well as certain specialty substrates such as canvas/buckram.
At GRAPH EXPO 2008, the Meteor DP60 Pro was named as a MUST SEE ‘EM in the Presses – Production Color Digital category, recognizing technologies that will impact virtually all printers.
The Meteor DP60 Pro perfectly fits the evolving global graphics arts market, integrating many of the best qualities of offset into a technologically sophisticated digital press. In order to continue providing the professional quality the industry demands, MGI has partnered with CGS to provide a unique solution that ensures color quality and fidelity while maximizing efficiency.
MGI chose to partner with CGS because of their expertise and unparalleled quality of their applications. CGS’ ORIS Press Matcher™ software can now be sold with the Meteor DP60 Pro digital press.
By combining the ORIS Press Matcher software with the Meteor DP60 Pro digital press, graphic arts professionals are assured consistent color quality across the board. In just a few clicks of the mouse, the Meteor DP60 Pro can be re-profiled literally within minutes, assuring consistent output at any time. These profiles are ISO, SWOP, or even custom in-house standards.
The joint solution will next be displayed in Europe at Graphitec, held June 9-12, 2009, at Paris Porte de Versailles (booth E019) and in the United States at PRINT 09, held September 11-16, 2009, at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois (booth #4329).
