Michael Marcian Sr. Receives the 2011 Lewis Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award
PITTSBURGH—Nov. 17, 2011—Printing Industries of America is pleased to announce that Michael Marcian Sr. is the 2011 Lewis Memorial Award recipient. The award pays homage to business leaders who have gone far beyond standard obligations to become a significant force in shaping the business of printed communications.
Marcian has been a leader in the industry and has a list of accomplishments that honor the spirit of the Lewis Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award. He has been contributing to the printing industry since he graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1973 and took a job at Corporate Press, in Landover, MD, in the company’s customer service department. Marcian worked his way up to become CEO and Chairman of the Board of Corporate Press. With more than 35 years of commitment to Corporate Press and the printing industry, he continues to share his knowledge and passion with his peers.
A strong believer in giving back to the industry, in 1996 Marcian joined the Board of Directors of his local Printing Industries of America affilate. In 1997, he joined Printing Industries of America’s Board of Directors as the Region 2 representative and the the Printing Industries’ Executive Board. Once Marcian was a Printing Industries of America board member, he became very involved with his committee responsibilities in the Digital Print Council, Insurance Committee and the Finance Committee. He became Printing Industries of America’s 2nd Vice Chairman in 2000, and Chairman in 2003.
In 2004, Marcian was inducted into the Ben Franklin Honor Society. When he isn’t involved in Printing Industries of America’s activities as a past chair, he spends time with his wife of 39 years, Carolyn, their two sons, and four grandchildren
The Lewis Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Marcian at Printing Industries of America’s Fall Administrative Meetings, Nov. 11-13, in Miami Beach, FL. This forum hosts an impressive audience of industry leaders, including boards of directors and committee members from Printing Industries of America, its Ben Franklin Honor Society, and the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation.
