Michael R. Keene to be Awarded the Harry V. Quadracci Vision Award
PITTSBURGH—April 3, 2009—Web Offset Association will present Michael Keene, president and chief executive officer of The John Roberts Co., with the Harry V. Quadracci Vision Award. The Award recognizes a web offset printing industry executive who has reached an unsurpassed level of excellence and achievement in the industry. The Vision Award is dedicated to the spirit of those industry pioneers whose hard work and determination have created a vibrant, growing, and changing industry.
Keene graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1972 and has been employed in the printing industry his entire career. He worked his way into the bindery and prepress departments, and through his career, he has been the prepress manager, the general production manager, the sales manager, and for over 20 years has been the president of this family-owned printing company.
Keene's involvement with the printing industry both locally and nationally has been undying. His 2008 induction into Printing Impressions/RIT Hall of Fame is testimony to his involvement and commitment over the years.
His least-publicized, but most distinctive, attribute is his dedication and devotion to his employees. In the past eight years The John Roberts Co. has received a "Best Workplaces in the Americas" award, and in four of those years was honored as the "Best of the Best." Under the direction of Michael Keene, John Roberts is indeed an employee-friendly workplace.
Keene is a member of numerous committees with Printing Industries of America, including former president of the President's Association and the former chairman of the board of the Web Offset Association. He is currently on PIM's board of directors.
WOA will present the Harry V. Quadracci Vision Award to Keene on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, during the Offset & Beyond conference.
